Agentic AI: When networked AI agents drive processes forward independently

How specialized AI agents are breaking down silos, boosting company-wide performance and radically accelerating cross-divisional processes.

Dissolve process silos - relieve employees in a targeted manner

Goal
Dissolving information and process silos through networked AI agents that independently coordinate specialist tasks, prepare decisions and accelerate operational processes. The aim is to provide employees with targeted support through a powerful AI infrastructure, increase their productivity and significantly shorten decision-making paths.

Solution
With Agentic AI, we create a network of specialized, authorized AI agents, each of which has in-depth expertise in their domain and actively communicates with each other. Instead of isolated tools, a coordinated system is created in which agents exchange information, negotiate tasks and support processes end-to-end.

A shared knowledge base in the form of a versioned knowledge graph ensures that all agents have access to consistent, up-to-date company information. Critical decisions remain traceable at all times and can be specifically approved or controlled by humans. This creates a scalable AI infrastructure that not only automates processes, but also orchestrates them intelligently.

Initial situation

When organizations are held back by silos

In medium-sized retail or textile companies, processes are often spread across many departments. Information is transferred manually, coordination takes a long time and decisions are made across several hierarchies. High-performing employees in particular spend a large part of their time on coordination rather than on value-adding work.

The goal is an organization in which specialist tasks no longer stall or even fail at departmental boundaries. Specialized AI agents take over coordination, information procurement and preparatory work, while employees can concentrate on decision-making, creativity and management.

Architecture, agent capabilities and governance

A network of specialized agents
The basis is a network of authorized AI agents, each representing a specialist role - for example for product, purchasing, logistics, legal or HR. These agents are connected via standardized interfaces and can exchange information, make queries or initiate tasks. All agents access a shared knowledge base that maps guidelines, KPIs, contracts, product data and process knowledge in a structured manner and manages them in versions.

Practical example: article launch without friction losses
The product agent initiates the first variants and concepts for a new product launch. At the same time, the procurement agent checks supplier availability and costs, while the legal agent evaluates contractual conditions and compliance. The logistics agent plans distribution and capacities. A higher-level orchestrator agent prioritizes tasks, identifies conflicts and only escalates to people if decisions are critical or contradictory. All steps are documented transparently.

Human-in-the-loop: control, trust and learning
Employees retain control over decisions at all times. Critical steps are approved, agents receive feedback and continuously improve their behavior. This interaction ensures trust, acceptance and a gradual increase in autonomy.

Governance & security: transparency instead of a black box
Access rights, role models, audit logs and explainable decisions are an integral part of the architecture. New agents or process changes are first validated in secure test environments before they go live.

Pilot phase & results

Making agentic AI tangible

In a 60- to 90-day pilot, an end-to-end process - such as an article launch - is implemented with several agents. The aim is to significantly reduce manual handovers, allow processes to run through without blockages and document decisions in a fully traceable manner.

Expected results after 6-12 months

Companies benefit from:

  • Significantly shorter throughput times for cross-departmental processes
  • Faster decision-making cycles thanks to prepared, context-rich decision templates
  • Noticeable relief for employees from routine coordination work
  • Significantly increased productivity of high-performance roles
  • Greatly reduced process errors and friction losses
  • Complete transparency across all agent interactions and decision paths
