Data and AI in professional football
- on one platform
Match analysis, scouting, medicine, training and the entire office on one database. Your club's data gives you a decisive advantage - on and off the pitch.
Data platform for professional football clubs: from data silo to decisive advantage
Over 150 million data points are collected per game in modern professional soccer - from tracking systems, event data, wearables, video analysis, scouting platforms and medicine. So far, less than one percent of this data has been analyzed. This is precisely where the leverage lies for clubs that want to remain competitive in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2 or internationally.
The reality in most clubs today is different: Sports, medical, sales, marketing, ticketing and merchandising data live in separate systems. Coaches, management and specialist departments make decisions based on different levels of data. AI initiatives fail due to data quality before they can even go live.
What if your association's data worked together - instead of existing in isolation? This is exactly our approach: a central data platform based on Microsoft Fabric, where all departments see the same data - filtered, prepared and with the right authorizations for each role.

Questions & Answers
-
What is a data platform for professional football clubs?
A data platform combines sports, medical, marketing, ticketing and business data in a central environment that can be accessed by authorized persons. Based on Microsoft Fabric, this creates a uniform data status for all areas - including authorization logic, so that medical data remains in the medical department, contract data in the sports management department and sales figures in the business office. Instead of many isolated solutions, each area receives exactly the view it needs for its task.
-
Which use cases offer the fastest added value?
Experience has shown that three areas pay off particularly quickly: Live workload and change decisions on the coaching bench, scouting with profile search across all top leagues and matchday cockpit for the office with stadium utilization, catering and staff deployment. These use cases show a measurable impact in just a few weeks and simultaneously build up the database for early medical warnings and long-term performance models.
-
How long does it take to implement a data platform?
We work in clearly defined stages: Workshop (1-2 weeks) for use case prioritization and data room inventory, proof of concept (4-8 weeks) for a first productive use case on a real database, then gradual scaling to other areas. The first productive dashboards are usually live within a quarter - without interrupting day-to-day business.
-
Can SAP Sports One be integrated - or replaced?
Both are possible. Microsoft Fabric does not necessarily replace SAP Sports One - it opens up both paths: bidirectional data exchange SAP ↔ Fabric, so that the sports science island remains connected while business data is integrated for the first time, or gradual migration if the club wants to consolidate on a uniform platform. In both cases, the connection to Impect, Wyscout, StatsBomb, Catapult, STATSports and SkillCorner is maintained.
