2. what data do we process from you and for what purpose?
If you use social media platforms, the respective social media platform processes numerous personal data as an independent controller. The social media platforms do not transmit any personal data to us and your personal data will not be shared with us or stored by us, unless otherwise stated below.
a) Aggregated data
When you access our social media presence, the respective social media platform processes some data specifically in the context of our social media presence and makes this data available to us in the form of aggregated data, which is not stored by us outside the respective social media platform. This includes in particular
- Reach and interaction
We can generally access how many people have seen our posts and have marked, shared or commented on them. - Actions
We can often see what actions visitors take on our social media presence, e.g. whether they visit our website from there. - People
We can usually retrieve at least the average age, gender or location of visitors. - Views
We can find out how many people visit our social media presence and which areas they look at. In particular, we can see how often our videos, slides, tweets and replies are viewed.
We use this data to make our social media presence more attractive and interesting for you. For example, we can use the knowledge of the number of views of slides and tweets to tailor our activities on our social media presence even more to our target group. These purposes justify a legitimate interest in the processing required for this purpose. The legal basis for our processing is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
b) Data when contacting us via the social media platform
If you leave us a comment via our social media platform, write us a private message or contact us in any other way, we can use the respective social media platform - like any social media user - to view the data stored in your social media profile, i.e. usually your name, contact details and information shared by you. However, this retrieval only takes place to the extent necessary to respond to your contact via the social media platform. The purpose of the processing is therefore exclusively our legitimate interest in maintaining our user relationships or initiating new customer relationships. The legal basis for this data processing is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR, insofar as it concerns the initiation of a contractual relationship with you and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, insofar as it concerns other inquiries.
3 Who receives your data?
Within our company, access to the data is only granted to those departments that absolutely need it to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes. This may also be a processor who operates or manages our social media presence. In addition, the respective social media platform naturally has access to the data, as this data is originally stored on the social media platform.
4. is data transferred to countries outside the European Union?
We do not transfer your data to countries outside the European Union. However, we would like to point out that your data is often sent from the respective social media platform to the servers of parent companies in the United States of America (USA) and stored there. There is no general adequacy decision by the European Commission for the USA that certifies that the USA has an adequate level of data protection. However, the parent companies are certified in accordance with the so-called "EU-US Privacy Shield" and thus enable an adequate level of protection for processing in the USA. This applies to the following social media platforms and their certification

- Right to rectification, erasure and restriction. Under certain circumstances, you have the right to request that we correct, restrict or delete your personal data.
- Right to data portability. You have the right to receive your personal data from us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit it directly from us to a third party, where technically feasible.
- Right to object. You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on point (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR. We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint. If you are of the opinion that our data processing violates European data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example with the North Rhine-Westphalia State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information responsible for us.
Please note that we have no influence on the data processing by the respective social media platform in your area of responsibility. If, for example, you wish to assert your data subject rights on the respective social media platform, please contact the respective social media platform.
6. when will my data be deleted?

The deletion of data on the respective social media platform is subject to the regulations of that platform.
7. is there an obligation to provide personal data?
You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to provide us with personal data.
