All back-office processes in one interface: development and introduction of software adapted to store processes worldwide. With Store Portal, prodot has created a platform that bundles workflows and information by integrating relevant systems and technologies - tailored to ALDI SOUTH's individual processes .
The right workflow for every requirement
Focus on processes: Our task was to develop a new solution to support store processes for all user groups - from cashiers and store managers to regional sales managers. The new solution had to take standards and best practices into account, have an identical architecture worldwide and be expandable as required with a high level of integration capability.
"People often try to solve a wide range of requirements with a single standard software solution - this is inefficient when there are a large number of special processes," explains prodot Managing Director Pascal Kremmers. "The Store Portal therefore pursues the idea of providing a separate, tailor-made workflow for each process."
Thinking in processes
The definition and design of the workflows required an in-depth understanding of the activities in the branches and the associated business processes. User groups were therefore involved in the development right from the start of the project. Through intensive collaboration, it was possible to map the daily tasks of the users in the software - to the benefit of the company and its employees.
- Intuitive: A task-based interface for quick, easy access to all functions and information - minimizing time and training requirements.
- More powerful: New functions to support additional branch processes and realize potential savings.
- Modular: Possibilities to expand and customize the created solution using the provided Software Development Kit (SDK).
- Integration-capable: Simple integration of external programs and connection to external service interfaces: The range of applications can thus be expanded as required.
- Secure: High level of data and system security thanks to certified Microsoft mechanisms and separate user sessions when using the Store Portal in kiosk mode.
Successful in use
The highly modular platform will be used in over 5,000 ALDI SOUTH stores worldwide. Over 90,000 users will have efficient access to task-related workflows and data - depending on their position and area of activity. The Store Portal already offers a high level of clarity and ease of use, ensuring that users quickly become familiar with the system. The high level of acceptance confirms that we should continue to pursue this concept.
