What is digital procurement software?
Procurement software is a digital purchasing tool. It manages the active purchasing process: tenders, supplier management, negotiations, contract award – from the initial need to the finalized contract.

What is the difference between procurement software and an ERP system?
An ERP system manages what has already been decided: bookings, goods movements, invoices. ERP systems rarely depict the path to finding the best offer, the right supplier, and the optimal contract. This is by design: ERP systems are generalists, not purchasing tools. Procurement software fills precisely this gap, managing suppliers, tenders, and negotiations.

Can procurement software complement an existing ERP system?
Yes, the integration works in both directions. Requirements flow from the ERP system into the procurement software. This includes, for example, which items are needed and in what quantities, as well as item master data such as article numbers, descriptions, and units.
